freichat! is a really cool extension that will integrate Facebook & Gmail like chat into Joomla-CB

The name FreiChat is derived from the german(deutsch) word â€˜Freiâ€™(pronounced Fry) which means Free.

freichat v.2.0 is a facebook like chat that has some features added
The extension includes

* a chat component
* a chat module

Features:

* Easy installation with community builder
* Avatar support
* facebook like chatbar
* Minimize and close chat boxes
* Able to chat even while you browse different pages.
* Option for username or nickname
* single css file for both(chatbar n chatbox)!

Requirements:

* Joomla 1.5 with CB
* Connections must be enabled in CB
* You can chat only with your connections/friends

Didn't work in Firefox or IE.
In Firefox it displayed users but no popup to
chat.

In IE it displayed users but popup chat box didn't fully load.

This could be a great com. just needs more work.

i added this extension months back in joomlapolis but looks like they have woken up now and have confirmed it some days back.
The download provided here(joomlapolis) is ver.2.0
The current version is 3.5.0 which works as an extension of CB.
The latest version at present is FreiChatX.v.4.3.alpha(This version is not an extension but a seperate program in itself,but does the same work as v.3.5.0)

I've been using this plugin for quiet sometime and on multiple website and templates. It works like a charm.

It maintains the session very well when pages are changed and does exactly as said in its description.

Its the best free chat plugin one can find on CB plugin or even Joomla plugin.

All the credit goes to its creator :-)
