The CB Team has just packages a set of new CB Team plugins and updates to previously released plugins and made them available for documentation subscribers. The entire set is comprised of:
- CB Profile Gallery 1.2 RC2 (plugin, module and documentation!) - for CB 1.2 stable (Joomla 1.0/1.5 & Mambo native)
This release fixes all identified issues of the previous RC package and also includes 31 pages of documentation! Just download and unzip to reveal plugin, module and pdf document!
- CB Captcha 2.2 RC4 plugin (for doc subscribers only) fixes all identified issues with previous release.
- CB Privacy 1.0 RC plugin (new! - first time release): This CB 1.2 stable compatible plugin allows you to turn on privacy settings on a fields basis or tabs basis. Your members can now decide how privacy controlled fields/tabs will be handled. Example: a member may decide that his additional info tab is only viewable by his connected users! This will also work on CB plugin tabs - example: a user may specify that his profileWall is only viewable by connected users!
- CB ProfileBook 1.2 RC2 (plugin and module) - for CB 1.2 stable (Joomla 1.0/1.5 & Mambo native)
This release fixes some identified issues of the previous RC package.
- CB Rating Fieldtype 1.0 RC plugin - for CB 1.2. This plugin adds 2 new field types to available CB fields: Stars My Rating and Stars Your Rating. The resulting AJAX powered fields will permit users to submit their rating on specific topics or allow the profile owner to express his/her opinion (in rate form) about something. Very powerfull control elements permit you to allow/disallow multiple voting, etc.
- CB Ajax Text Fieldtype 1.0 RC plugin - for CB 1.2. This plugin adds a new AJAX text field type to available CB fields. The resulting fields can be quickly edited from front-end and are refreshed immediately. This permits you to add as many "what's my status" type fields as you want in your profile. Many configuration settings available.
The stable versions of Profile Gallery, Rating fieldtype and Ajax Text fieldtype
plugins will be released to the general public for free when the RC
phase is finished. Until then, they are provided to the documentation subscribers as another "THANK YOU" for their generous support.
All the above plugins are currently available in the documentation subscriber download area. More plugins will follow these very soon.

The CB Team has just packaged a number of CB Plugins in RC status and released them to all documentation subscribers. These RC packages include:
- CB Profile Gallery 1.2 RC (plugin and module) - for CB 1.2 stable (Joomla 1.0/1.5 & Mambo native)
This release improves the user interface and all the identified issues have been fixed. Now CB jQuery lightbox is used to avoid javascript template conflicts (you can see this in action on our MyCommunity template demo sites).
- CB Profile Book 1.2 RC (plugin and new module) - for CB 1.2 stable (Joomla 1.0/1.5 & Mambo native)
This release has added some very nice and powerful features that will make community building with CB even better. The new Profile Book plugin now has 3 associated tab - the existing ProfileBook tab that gives your profile owner a guestbook/rating functionality, a new ProfileBlog tab that adds blogging to your profile without the need for extra components and the new ProfileWall tab that allows members and visitors to post messages on the same wall in a CB tab. Each tab can be published by the admin and enabled/disabled by the profile owner. Captcha support has been integrated for visitors, as well as management of a "NEW" status with CB login module integration. Finally the user interface and design has been uplifted. (You can see all of this in action on our MyCommunity template demo sites).
- CB Captcha 2.2 RC3 (for doc subscribers only) - this update adds even more anti-spam controls to captcha generation and control making it even more difficult for spam bots to register, login and so on.
- CB Autowelcome 1.2 RC3 (plugin) - this update adds no new features but makes things fully compatible with CB 1.2 and thus also Joomla 1.5 native.
- CB Content module 1.2 RC - this module is currently offered with our MyCommunity package and is now offered for documentation subscribers (will be publically released for free along with rest of CB Team plugins when stability is reached). The module allows you to place the CB user menu items in a CMS module (you can see this in action on our MyCommunity template demo sites)
The stable versions of Profile Gallery, ProfileBook and AutoWelcome plugins will be released to the general public for free when the RC phase is finished. Until then, they are provided to the documentation subscribers as another "THANK YOU" for their generous support.
All the above plugins are currently available in the documentation subscriber download area. More plugins will follow these very soon.

The CB Team is proud to announce the release of its first Joomla / CB Template combination, named MyCommunity. This light, lean, tableless design will make your website super efficient in terms of loading time, size and cleanness.
The MyCommunity template has been designed in a very sober
clean way, avoiding any design clutter using cool unobtrusive blue and
grey tones, so that the focus of the visitor is immediately drawn to
the content of the pages, users' profiles, lists of users, latest news
of the site.
The template validates XHTML 1.0 trans and CSS 2.1, is tableless for
better accessibility, and has been successfully tested on a broad range
of browsers. The template has been designed especially for clean
Community Builder rendering, as well as for popular extensions, like
uddeIM and fireboard.
The clean design and light fully CSS implementation makes
your Joomla site super fast and efficient. A default joomla 1.0
homepage loads really very fast, even over slow mobile-phones or
modems, as the template requires only the minimal 2 web-server requests
(one for html and one for CSS that most browsers can handle in
parallel) and in less than 10 kilobytes (webserver compression on).

CB 1.2 Stable Public Release! |

The CB Team is proud to announce the public release of CB 1.2 stable. CB 1.2 stable suite can be installed and works on Joomla 1.0.X, Joomla 1.5.X (natively) and Mambo 4.5.0-4.6.5 CMS systems.
This "free as in beer" GPL suite remains the most popular Joomla extension with hundreds of free and commercial extensions available (165 CB extensions are listed in the Joomla Extensions Directory) that further extend its already powerful functionality taking advantage of its powerfule API. If you like the new speedy (jquery powered) and feature-rich CB 1.2 stable release, please take a moment and give us a review on the JED.
CB 1.2 stable has addressed all known issues identified since the public release of CB 1.2 RC4 and is ready to be given the CB Team stable label. CB 1.2 now includes even more profile templating possibilities, so professional template designers-developers can use their php/css skills to produce CB template plugins.
You can download CB 1.2 stable here and to get you started a free extract of the detailed documentation can be downloaded here.
The CB Team would like to thank the test team, the forum moderators, that translators and the documentation subscribers for their support during this long process.
In order to make our forums easier to follow, we have made all CB 1.2 RC discussion areas read only.
Update (uppdated): PHP 5.2.3 required and highly recommended: early feedbacks seem to confirm that CB 1.2 Stable requires PHP 5, as CSS and JS seem not outputed when executing in PHP 4. We will troubleshoot this problem as soon as time permits, but anyway we highly recommend to take this great opportunity to ask your hoster to switch your server to PHP 5.2.3 (preferably 5.2.6 or later, avoid 5.2.0 which has bugs affecting CB). PHP 4 is end-of-life since 08-08-2008, as officially announced 13-07-2008, and since then, PHP 4 does not have critical security upgrades anymore. Therefore we are not treating this bug as a high-priority item.
