The highly anticipated stable release of the Community Builder version 1.0 has been set. After a long period of testing the CB Core team is once again confident that the quality of its development processes in conjunction with the rigorous testing activities put forth by the entire test team will surely shine with this release.

1.0 stable build 2 in Test-team

Today, I have sent build 2 of Community Builder 1.0 stable to the 75+ testers and 3PD of CB's test-team for final tests. Test-team Build 2 is correcting all known bugs of RC2 and 1.0 build 1 (about 50 bugs found in build 1 and in RC2 since build 1 release), and brings no new major features, just corrections and smoothing, insuring stability. This build should lead to the long-awaited Community Builder 1.0 stable release within the next couple of weeks. Community Builder 1.0 stable is compatible with with Joomla! 1.0.x to 1.1 beta 1 and with Mambo 4.5.0 to 4.5.3, hopefully also 4.6 beta 1. It has been quite a chalenge to get this extra-wide backwards and forward compatibility. For us, it has been a long stability trip in features-freeze mode, and also a long wait for all of us. The last tests starting now are a key task that needs to be done properly, to avoid last-minute bugs. Thanks to all for your patience, and also for your highly appreciated contributions and donations, in order to keep the project alive. We are already looking forward to the next releases of Community Builder, with new features. Joomlapolis updated to Joomla 1.0.8

Our Joomlapolis.com site has been updated from Joomla 1.0.3 to the recently released 1.0.8 version. The upgrade went smoothly without any problems (but we will be monitoring just in case). The Joomla core team has acknowledged the hellp and participation of our own Beat and Trail (see http://www.joomla.org/content/view/940/74/1/6/).

We have just installed Nant's Profile Gallery on JP! This is actually my first plugin that is currently in testing mode (so be patient and carefull). It has many nice but simple features. First of all it was written for CB using the API. A number of testers are also pounding away at this but I felt that I just had to let people know that I am very close. But remember I will not release until my Karma is greater than Trails! LOL!

How to make a date ordered CB list with automatic record aging

Have you ever wanted to create a list that is ordered and displayed by date, but age the records so that only the last 30 days display? Perhaps a list like "Users Added In The Last 30 Days". In my case I have the ability for members to note a significant life announcement like a birth or marriage. Since they are not likely to remove it in a timely fashion, I would like to prevent any that are older than 180 days from displaying.
