I had CB stable installed before the joomla upgrade, and doing that little fix worked. I don't know if installing/upgrading CB after upgrading/installing joomla 1.0.9 makes a difference or not.

It doesn't fix the problem for me.
Let me review what's happening.
I go to the page and enter the login info press submit and the username appears in the cbonline list, but that is all. It doesn't reflect the welcome message for the user and it doesn't present me with a user menu.
I see the user as an active person in the user management panel and I can kick them off. It just never activates any user functions.
Periodically I can login and it will work, but for no apparent reason.
Does anyone have anything similar to this occuring?

Try lowering security of joomla to level 2, it fixes a few things i think..
Also to add to be bugs list:
109 sef breaks userhomepages.
109 poll breaks any inputs, like in zoom, yanc, cb, anything that has the poll published on the same page..
A popup will first show nothing was inputted.. then cb saves normally.. zoom however doesn't save or delete pictures..
I recommend holding off the installation of 1.0.9

Thanks for your comment, the issue seems to be taken care of by upgrading mysql on the server.
I am still curious about security settings within Joomla?

Hmmmmm... sounds like some say wait until upgrading to 1.0.9 and other don't have problems ... hmmmm
i want to know if there are any know issues with
open sef or sef advance
ijoomla magazine component
mosets tree dir componet
has anyone been successfull with these on joomla 1.0.8 ro 1.0.9?
