If the page cannot be found it is a serverside problem and in this case the answer can be found in the server logs.

but the page can be found by Mozilla !
MS IE cannot find it ????
all that sounds bizarre,
our hosting support service says the problem is on the software side, like Mambo - CB are returning bad datas MSIE cannot accept - corrupted cookie ??
so far that issue remains still unsolved

See what the server logs say. I doubt that you can find any solution without looking what the error message is.

the fact is that :
- the problem does not create any "error_log" file we could look inside (I mean the usual error logs one can find on the mambo root or other dirs),
and
- on our hosting, from the control panel, the server error log is empty...
is there any specific mode (like debug or something else) we could activate on Mambo's config to investigate better ?

Not that I know of. Without logs there is not much that can be done. To further investigate the problem I would
-post the question to mambo forums
-set up the same site on a server that you have full control and turn php debugging on.

yes, posting on Mambo forums was already done weeks ago without success...
your second proposition seems the best way
