Version 1.5 is out! It includes several code enhancements, plus now you may include a user's avatar (if any) inside the invitation email template.
More importantly, version 1.5 supports a new PlaxoInvite extended component. This component comes separate as an add-on, and replaces the original PlaxoInvite manager (so uninstall it first, if you already have it installed). It has the following features:
- Include sending invitations as part of the registration process
- Allows users to send invites through a separate component instead of their profiles (you may hide the invite tool in their profiles to prevent confusion)
- Namecard feature, which is basically a URL which your users can leave anywhere they want (forum posts, other websites, emails etc), and when people follow this link, they will view their namecards with a link to register on your site. Namecard invitations are considered a successful valid invitation.

As usual, existing customer will receive a copy of version 1.5. Look out for it in your mailbox.

awesome.
You know what you should do (and this was the first thought that came up for me when you said "namecard"), allow users or atleast the admin create a card for people to put on other sites or pages.. so not only a link, but like a refferal (this is my page, and here you can join) card.

hmmm well users can create an image of their own and hyperlink it with their namecard link for that. admins can even create a few fixed images that the users may use.

thats true, but then it would be cool to have a "Want Refferal codes/images?" link or ajax open so people can see that.. integrated to the component so the admin can also make them in the backend. Good suggestion for next release?

Hi guys
To get the banner thing you want I came up with this:
I put this code at the bottom of the namecard in the component backend
(Hey {username}, if you want to place a Georgia Wonder logo on your myspace or another website to help us out and claim some more clicks,<br />use the code below:<br /><br />
<PRE><a href=" http://www.yoursite.com/option,com_plaxoinvite/task,namecard/username,{username}/Itemid,223/"><img src=" http://www.yoursite.com/images/stories/gwlogo.jpg"></a></PRE>
However, I have SEF Advance installed so this may not be the same for all of you, but you get the idea - basically copy the link code in the url for your namecard, and use the username tag mike gives you to actually replace the text in the pre box with the username of the current user
It creates a little box at the bottom of each namecard with code you can copy (hence the mad heiroglyphics to get the code to display properly)
