This may be already noted, but I haven't found it through searching:
I have the captcha plug-in installed, and it works great, except for one thing. The site I run is closed. Therefore, I don't need captcha for the user e-mail capability. However, if I say "no" to user e-mail, then the image doesn't display, but the users get an "invalid security code" when the try to send. If I turn on the Captcha and they enter the correct code, everything's fine.
Aside from leaving Captcha on, is there any work-around for this?

I'm having the same problem. What is the fix?
The security code (image) itself is not showing up but the other form elements are there. Is there some dependency or setting I'm missing? I installed the plugin correctly and already checked out its options but didn't find a solution for this.
Thanks, Kelly

Creator wrote: Hi all, I was having this problem also and I also have JSMF (Joomlahacks) installed. I have also found a solution. Go to SMF Admin ==> Server Settings ==> Feature Configuration and disable: Use database driven sessions. This one drove me crazy. I spent the better half of two day's to find the problem but now it works. Thanks guy's for a great plugin. Hope this helps some of you.
