Thanks for the suggestions. I am sure I typed correctly, just to make sure I went back and tried it about 5 more times with the same result.

I had a similar problem with the Mehdi bridge for phpBB prior to installing CB. It worked great on my local server, but always had an error when I installed it on my shared hosted server. Thanks for your help.

@gstyles: you are welcome.
@all: Unless the other users which have problems displaying the captcha image reply here, i'm assuming that they had same problem and can make their hoster fix it for them.
@kharder: please pm nant your site url and access if you wish us to investigate the reason.
anybody else with that problem ? The other reason for not displaying the image as we just found out with houbahop's site, and *seemed* to be that joomFish (the multilingual site component) interfering with dynamic image generation like the one used with CB captcha plugin, and this only with certain languages (e.g. with English it is ok, and with French it isn't) turned out to be a modified CB language file with (invisible!) characters before "<?php" or after "?>" !
Solution: remove them (not with notepad!): see a post following this one.
EDIT: updated problem description.
