Thank you Karma. I just installed CB and have been tearing my hair out over this problem, going over and over the steps again thinking I must have done something wrong.
I'll definitely work through your tips asap!
Best wishes Christine

Ok, checked through the links and really just want to tear out some more hair
Does anyone have a CB/Mambo expert whom I can contract to sort out the registration/login problem?
Best wishes Christine

The second, seemingly more reasonable, fix was to edit php.ini to change the line:
session.save_path = /tmp
to
session.save_path = tmp
Once I did that, everything is fine! IE logins create only a single session.

I am having similar log in problems, double log ins, and log ins that don't seem to "take". If user logs in, the log in fields remain. Going to Forum causes log in to take and restricted items appear on Main Menu, and CB log in then shows Hi, user.
I have this problem regardless of IE or Firefox.
I have my site at a hosting service. How can I make this change to php.ini?
Can I do this in the .htaccess file?
