im testing the component as well and im very impressed by it and as it looks i will switch over..
i think i will switch too. the only question is about the performance with thousands of user.
So if you look what he made of his cb profile area then i have just one question...why isnt that used for cb..
hmm.. i think it's not difficult to make this "design". it's only a little bit css. in 1.2 it's easier than in 1.0. in the past i hacked the cbcore to do things like this: fidikus . de (only screenshot, because the project is dead).
I know, my english seems a little .. unusual .. but really, it's not bad, it's only a bavarian version

Wow, all the trolls seem to be coming out. I'm not sure why people insist on comparing apples with oranges.
CB is what it is. It is not a commercial product. Jomsocial is a commercial product. If that is something that you all need then I suggest buying it. It is totally uncalled for trolling these boards and bashing CB which in turn bashes the developers and all the users that support it.
Joomunity is off to a very rocky start and it's developer does not answer my emails regarding offers to help even though he asks for it. It is totally different set up than CB and in it's infancy so I do not compare it.
It is unfair to compare CB's development with commercial products or really any other product since CB rose out of specific needs.
My motto, if you don't like it then learn to program and build your own component or go pay for a commercial component.
For those that complain that CB is not j1.5 compliant...then make it so or pay someone like me that can make it work with j1.5. Just expect to keep paying me for support when something does not work the way you want it to  (no I am not soliciting for business..I don't want the headache as it is a hobby for me)
For those that complain about CB not being released quick enough....I assume the developers have lives outside of CB and don't sit around all day programming CB and making Joomla components since this is not a commercial product.
In the spirit of free(dom) software and community, it's great that some folks have contributed monetarily, it's great that some help other users, it's great that the developers give the component away, it's great that there are other programmers who make plugins, It's great we can use the code and make it work the way we want it to and change it then give it away without fear of retribution.
It has been stated that CB will be released to the public. For those that paid, that was your choice to pay to peek at the code before it was released. I think it was clearly stated that the component would not be released until the developers thought it was ready.
So all you trolls, please move along and look for a fight somewhere else. There really is nothing to argue about. CB is what it is.
