You guys rock!! RC2 is one heck of an achievement! Kudos kudos kudos! Community Builder has to the single most important extension to Joomla!

Hehe - well thank YOU! That's very kind words!
OK - I know that I have been dormant for quite sometime. I'm happy to tell you, that I will shortly be commencing work on the search feature as a plugin and releasing it under GPL. I have a major assignment right now but then I will begin work on CBsearch. Of course, there is some plugin API to dig into, but you guys took care of that, too!
I have some ideas for the plugin:
- backend settings : configuring a simple and advanced search package on separate tabs
- allow users to save the results of their searches for later review. At the user's discretion, some profiles could e.g. be exported to the "connections"/"buddy" area, others could be discarded from the results list. Of course, a purge button would required to clean out the result list.
- allow the users to save customized search combinations in a "My searches" tab, thereby eliminating the tedious task of setting up the search form every time you want to be updated on who's who. E.g. I could have a search combination of "female, between 20 - 25, 180 cm or taller, blue eyes, blond hair" and saved it as "my dream woman"  (ok ok it's a joke ppl, don't come down with nasty stuff
