It has been hectic here.. summertime is not only too hot for coding but also a busy time for me as a DJ playing gigs at festivals and what not..

Add to that the introduction of a new girl into my life, and you got the perfect recipe for much absence from this project.

I still need to fix a stupid bug i introduced since adding the requests..

Before any release i need to take a look at other licencing methods.. since a closed source code licence that is still open for reading seems unacceptable.. i hate that stuff..

Since its no longer too hot to code, i should get myself back into the project.

I'm glad to see there is more interest in the project than i originaly thought.

Hi Trail,

its great to finally hear from you. As you saw some of us are in need of this component and are willing to contract out the process of coding.

So what we would like to know from you is when we can expect this component's release? If its soon we don't need to go else where.

In regards to licencing you could offer 2 versions. A free one with "sponsorship" of your sites or affiliates and a paid version with no "sponsorship". Another option is that you could go more like JACL Plus with paid members receiving updates and support and free members receving no support or updates. Just some ideas.

Look forward to your response,
Gavin.

Trail, thanks for the update and gavin for identifying what we really need, yes there are lots of us who are keen to take this to completion.

Well its been about a week now since I asked the questions we have all been wondering and still no reply from Trial.

As the developer of a commercial component we would all agree that this is not very professional.

As the component Trail is/was developing was not exactly what we were looking for we have gone to a professional to get it done. Surprisingly it will cost far less than the total for Trial's and svetlozar's components combined.

On another note, there is already a free version of this component out there. It is being developed by Marc Galang at
    http://www.galangph.com
. Its in BETA at the moment and doesn't have the import function yet but Marc is developing that as well. It looks like it will be a free component under GNU GPL when completed.

goodluck to all,
Gavin.

Thanks Gavin, I've been waiting for Trail for months and I bought the scripts for $100 from svetlozar. I'll try to use the free component instead. Thanks again.
