Lili Dauphin and her book of poetry, I Will Touch the Sun, have been awarded The 2008 Irwin Award for Best Inspirational Campaign.

At the awards ceremony, on October 15, 2008, Ms. Dauphin stated, “I Will Touch the Sun originally was supposed to be a journal, recording my private thoughts and feelings. However, when some friends perused my ‘poetic diary’ and found healing insights within its pages, they requested copies of my poems.

Many insisted I publish my journal as a book to inspire and help others. With my friends support, the project began to blossom and took on a life of its own.”

A prolific and colorful author, Lili Dauphin’s earlier works include the popular autobiographical novel: Crying Mountain, I Will Fly Again, My First Sins, and others. When asked why she is compelled to write, she said, “Writing is my passion . . . my heart.

Perhaps, I’m being selfish, but inspiring others to be happy appears to be my calling. It makes me happy.”

She is now in the process of writing her seventh book. When asked about how she finds time to write so many books, Lili coyly answered, “I write in my sleep.”
