[SOLVED] Error sending email was created by joviantan
Hi,

After smooth installation of CB I tried to test the mailing function....by using forgot login > lost username.....entered the email and click "send username/password"...turns out with error message:

"Error sending email"

I've tested with joomla default login form and it works fine.....guess it means my global configuration mail setting is correct.....

I've tried registration, after registration it saids email sent....but unfortunately it didn't....

did i missed out something at CB configuration to get CB mailing function to work?

Any help is much appreciated.

Same problem with CB_LOGIN username and password send (and confirmation mail due to ldap auto creation but donno how to resolve it).

I tried with YOO_LOGIN and it works great.

my global mail setting is

* Mailer: SMTP Server
* SMTP Security: SSL
* SMTP Port: 465
* SMTP Authentication: Yes
* SMTP Username: Gmail username
* SMTP Password: Gmail password
* SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com


I've installed CB following README-NEW-INSTALL.txt instruction.

I've tested the mail function by using the 'forget password' link (type email and click sent)

with joomla:
[code:1]website/index.php?option=com_user&view=reset[/code:1]

it works fine, email was sent


but when i tried with CB:
[code:1]website/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=lostPassword
[/code:1]
it gives "Error sending email" message

I'm using Joomla 1.5 and CB 1.2.1

Change your SMTP Host to smtp.gmail.com:465 and this should resolve your issue.

thx, works for me too with port 25.

But doesn't resolve the ldap confirmation :(
