CB 1.2.1 errors

Hi
I'm new to CB, but I have got the users, fields, profiles working 96%, but I have two problems.
1. I cant update the users through the back-end "user Management". I can create the user, but cant update them, when I click on save it just sits there doing nothing.
2. I cant do anything with lists as soon as I go down to the columns area and click on anything in this area I get "error on page".
My website is hosted, but is running php 5.2.9.
I got no errors during the installation.

A few questions/hints:

Which browser ?

Works in Firefox ?

Which CB plugins installed ?

"error on page" : what error exactly ?

Any javascript errors ?

Works with default joomla template ?

Thanks Beat for the quick response.
1. Browser IE7
2. Havent tried firefox yet
3. I havent loaded any extra plugins yet, just the standard install of 1.2.1
4. error is Object expected
5. I have tried to look at the source and it appears that the moveoptions function doesnt exist.
6. I am running the default CB template.
it will be something simple.
