UTF8 on list filters replaced by html entities

14 years 3 months ago #120702 by dimkasta
I am working on a Greek site and as expected, I use utf8 on most of my fields, templates etc.

I have created a select field with 4 possible values, all of which are in Greek.
When I try to create a list that filters the members based on a Greek word filter, the greek part of the filter is saved on the database as html entities and not as utf characters, which causes the filter not to work.

Joomla version is 1.5.15, CB version is 1.2.1 and field and table collation is utf8_unicode_ci

Any input on this issue? I'm having this very issue with a french website I'm configuring. Accents (such has é, è , and so on) are not working on filters for lists...

Guess I'll have to investigate into the code but I am first making sure someone hasn't done all the dirty work already :P .

In the hope of helping those with a similair problem, I could quickly resolve the problem by manually editing the "filterfields" field of the "[tablePrefix]_comprofiler_lists" table in mysql.
As an example, I changed :
[code:1]s(`cb_titre` ='Com%E9dien')[/code:1]
to
[code:1]s(`cb_titre` ='Comédien')[/code:1]

and my list filters now work.

I didn't matter to change community builder concerned php files as I had only 5 filters to fix, so editing straight into MySQL was the fastest fix.

Please upgrade to CB 1.2.2 as I believe we have addressed this bug already, thank you.
