Is there any documentation or discussion of the long term capabilities of GroupJive?

I'm building a community site for a medical research website, and I'm trying to see if GroupJive will eventually meet some or all of the needs of our community.

Functionality we're eventually looking for include as it pertains to features that Group Jive might be able to provide:

• Forums that registered researchers can access (handled by stock Joomla)
• Forums that show up if the researchers are in the correct groups
• Meetings rooms (maybe the 'Groups' page in Joomla?) where Group members can share ideas (bulletin/forum), upload common files, post things to an event calendar, post articles.

Also, some of the features of Joomla 1.6 looks like it might incorporate some of the GroupJive functionality. Any comments on that?
