OK, I have an idea for an amped-up groups component. This component would combine the following existing components, modules and CB plugins:
Groupjive
extCalendar
The extCalendar miniCal module
The extCalendar latest events module
Joomlaboard

Right now, the excellent Groupjive com pulls off the same kind of groups engine that Friendster has.
But the groups on MySpace each have their own full forum -- and not to put too fine a point on it, but I got hooked on MySpace because of that very feature.
We also love the extCalendar com, and would like to give each group its own calendar with admin control and approval.
I develop Joomla/CB-based sites with a few other guys:
CC2k (one of my sites). "MySpace for movie geeks." News, reviews, forums, blogs and networking for geeks and people working in the movie industry.
Playimprov (one of my colleague's sites). A networking site for improv and sketch comedians in LA.
We are PAYING CUSTOMERS. We're looking for a programmer to help us get this component going, and to also build the appropriate CB plugin/tab to go with it.
