issue with fields

issue with fields was created by ozop102
I am trying to make a group of fields that only editors can edit for their profiles. Registered users should be able to VIEW that information on the editors profiles. But I do not want the regular registered user to be able to ad information into those fields.

How can I go about doing this? I have only been using joomla and CB for a little while and i havent learned everything yet.

With CB you can place these fields on a tab that is published for Editors.

This tab will then appear only for users that are in the editor group.

If you want registered users to see this information, you would have to use delimiter fields to do this.

CBSubs has more control over this, but its not free.

ok great, that works. But for regular registered users to view this, you say it has to be a delimiter field? what is that? is that only through CBSubs?

and how would that work?

A delimiter field is a field without user input. It allows an administrator to place data on a users profile that is static. However, using Delimiter fields you can display data any sort of way you want. This means you can have a tab available to only Editors so Registered users can't access the fields. THEN display those fields using Substitutions that way Registered can see the Editors fields on their profile. Please see tutorials in signature for further information on substitution usage. Also, no you do not need CBSubs for substitutions or delimiter fields; they are a part of CBs core.
