joomla/CB community builder/subdomains

13 years 9 months ago #134781 by SLOJack
Hello i am quite new to this forum, but have been using joomla for the last 2 years.

What im trying to achieve is haveing a website with CB 1.2.2 installed where the user profiles are directed to subdomains with a single login working on all subdomains.

Example:
www.mywebsite.com/userprofile/user1
redirect to
user1.mywebsite.com

I have been googling for the last few days and have kinda been banging my head aganst a wall.

Could anyone pleas explain what solution would work with this setup.

and ideas on needed mod rewrite rules.

i have mod-rewrite enabled in htacess. and can normaly create subdomains.

Does username.example.com actually exist? Don't think you can simply do a re-write and it work when sub-domains are involved. You'd need a new plugin to perform the redirect off the trigger onAfterUserLogin (more on triggers within Tutorials from my signature). www.example.com/username is doable with 3rd party SEF, but I don't think what you're wanting is doable. That'd simply send users to a sub-domain on your host, which you'd need a sub-domain for every user in that case.
