I would like to separate communities based upon school. You can only see the community of your school and no one elses. Basically, you are assigned to a group. Is this possible? If it is possible can I do it upon registration where you are only allowed to contact people in your network/group of your school?

I'm not entirely sure whether it is easy to do what you want, but in any case check out the GroupJive Plugin (also available on this site) which manages groups.

hey-ai - the community for asian guys and non-asian girls

The search bar is your friend, not just decoration!

As the previous poster suggested you could use GroupJive to accomplish this. However, GroupJive can not control other aspects of the site. I recommend something such as CBSubs to control your communities based on Subscription this way you can control your entire site based off what "School" (Plan) a user selects.
