Here's the shot of the "Edit Your Details" screen. Is this where tab privacy control is supposed to be?

Yes, look in your tab. The drop-down with "Only for direct connections" selected is CB Privacy for tabs. Typically it's far right of tab, but default Joomla template forces everything left. All of your screenshots are also too small (don't have eagle eyes).

Thanks for hanging with me. Sorry for the puny screenshots! I have the ability to hide my tabs on "Comtact Info" and "Portrait" but not for any of the other tabs -- I have Connections, Classifieds, Current Projects, Groups and Quick Msg Box. These are the tabs I'm trying to get user privacy for.
