plugin isn't working, I have your shoutbox installed (even though I was using SMO which is almost the same), and the plugin installed and published.

I am using the SMF login mod, but I even tried with the CB login mod and still nothing shows up in the shoutbox... how exactly does this work?

do you have the plugin published?
components > comprofiler > manage plugins

i have run into oddness when switching smo ajax and this shoutbox, i wanted smo to get the ding on new message but it wouldnt work because i already had this shoutbox running

perhaps it isn't working becuase your shoutbox table was set up by smo ajax shoutbox

try droppingt he shoutbox tables, removing both the module AND the component of the smf shoutbox, then install com and mod for the new box

if that doesnt work then let me know

basically im not sure why but the 2 shoutboxes have a tendancy to interfere even when completely dropped and reinstalled

looks like you didnt install the component, and its missing that

gotta install the component before the module, with any program

also make double sure you completely removed old module component and files/folders

yes I removed all the old files, removed all shoutboxes and sql data (I could find) and started over, and still it is not working...

Does this require a specific login module or something?

it appears that the problem was that the smf bridge was intercepting the login and therefore not triggering the com_profiler onbefore and onafter triggers.

you must use the cb_login module and not have any other components taking over the login task in index.php in root.
