[SOLVED] New installation severely slows down admin panel

7 years 5 months ago - 7 years 4 months ago #288142 by amulet
I have tried multiple installations of Community Builder on localhost installation and each time I install it, even on a fresh Joomla! 3.6.4, access to Joomla! control panel slows down to around 45 - 60 seconds. The same happens on administration log in (the log in module loads as normal, but when I "log in" it again takes 45 - 60 seconds for the admin panel to load).
Please help!
It has taken me over 6 hours to track the problem down to Community Builder component.

Your connection to our version check server is probably slowed or being blocked resulting in it waiting until timeout. You can disable automatic and plugin version checking within CB > Configuration > Integrations. You'll probably also want to unpublish the admin news feed module CB provides on your backend control panel.

Have reduced the HTTP request timeout to 10 seconds from 30 seconds so in times when the endpoint is unreachable it won't take a minute to timeout the requests.
