Hi,
is it possible to have the edit update user profile application to show a specific tab when the user opens it, like instead of user tab, the GDPR regulations tab or so?

If using the profile edit Joomla menutype simply specify the tab id in the tab parameter. If manually constructing the URL add &tab=TAB_ID to it. If you mean from the CB Menu above the users canvas on their profile then no that can't be customized.
