Try sending a simple email with Subject of Test and Body of Test to your own account (select your users checkbox before clicking Mass Mailer). If it's still doing it then something is modifying the POST data or the Joomla HTML buffer breaking the json string; likely 3rd party extension installed (possibly NoNumbers as that notice isn't coming from CB).

Even with a simple Subject and Body of "Test"? If that's the case then it's is as explained above that something is breaking the JSON. Try disabling 3rd party installed extensions 1 by 1 until issue goes away.
