[SOLVED] URGENT : Members can't confirm the account after upgrade to last CB version

Hi,

I was using CB 2.0 and just upgrade it to last version and now my members can't confirm their account.

It seems they don't receive their validation email.

Please what could have caused that?

So they're not receiving the email at all or the confirmation link isn't working? If they're not receiving the email then ensure emails are sending by using the Mass Mailer within CB > User Management on your self or a test user with an email domain different from your sites domain.

Hi Krileon,

Thank you for your answer. They don't receive email at all !

I have already tried to create an account and i did not get email either.

I have tried to send email with my email address and to it via contact messages and it works so it seems to come from CB but i don't know why...

Your mailer settings are likely incorrect then. If using SMTP try changing to phpmailer or sendmail. Joomla will fallback to phpmailer or sendmail if SMTP fails. CB will not. CB also validates SSL certificates so if SMTP is not setup with the correct host that matches the certificate it will fail.

I have tried to configure the smtp mailer and then ask my host siteground to do it.
They set it right but members still can't receive the confirmation email !

Please would it have another reason? It was working fine until i update CB :(

Edit : Siteground looked again at the SMTP config / set up and everything is fine, test mail are working... but members still don't receive their confirmation email.

I tried to change smtp by php mail and it works.

Please what can i change to make emails sending to my member please?
