Sizing factor for uploading user files.

7 years 4 weeks ago #292412 by MMDoege
Hello,

well, this not an error report, but frontend UX looks somewhat confusing to customers.
As the screenshot attached says the max. file size to upload may look cryptic (or unfamiliar).
Of course my message would rather be 10, 20 or any other size used by - eg. - storage devices.
Is there a factor I can calculate with --- say 11,45 MB to be set in CB's video upload limits to get 10 MB in real?

Thank you in advance.

1024KBs = 1MB is actually 1024Kis = 1Mi, but KB and MB have been associated with SI prefix for so longer. So if you want it to display exactly 10MB you need to set "Maximum File Size" to 10240. If you type the formula into Google is where you'll hit a lot of problems. Google sticks to Binary and SI prefix usages. So when calculating with Google you need to be sure to select Kibibit to Mebibit.
