[SOLVED] Request to Join GJ Group unresponsive

Hello,

I am trying to configure GJ groups to allow a user to join a group in the usual fashion as described for "approval" in the documentation.

When a user clicks on the "Join" button of the group banner, there is no message generated that a request is pending. The group moderators are never notified, neither is the user requesting to join. Instead the user is forwarded to the page of another GJ group (frontend) without any other actions or messages.

Any thoughts on a solution?

Sounds like a routing problem. Ensure you've a Joomla menu item to GJs all groups or all categories page. More than likely the Itemid of that specific group is being used resulting in the join button going to the wrong group. Disable SEO then retry and see if it works to confirm that's what's happening.

Yes, I had menu items left over from the GJ 2.7 to 3.0 upgrade that has become invalid. I updated them in the menu manager and that fixed the problem. Thanks for your help!
