Exclude users group from a List

Exclude users group from a List was created by AlanJones
So I have a list for a church directory that displays all members. However, we want to exclude a few people that need access to the site from this master list. In my thinking, I was going to create a user group called "non-member" and then find a way to exclude "non-members" from this list. How would I do something like this.

Just create a cb field checkbox field for excluding members and use that to filter your user list.

I cannot seem to generate the right query. The name of my field is cb_specialnonmember

How can I sort out all members who have this box checked?

Edit your userlist within CB > List Management then under Filters be sure Basic is selected. Next for Field select cb_specialnonmember, for operator select Not Equal To, and for the value input 1. That should filter out any user that has the field checked.
