Creating a new Joomla action - based on authorisation check

4 years 2 weeks ago #317060 by smalldragoon
Hi,
After some investigations, seems that the function which check authorisation to object is the method_authorise

here : api.joomla.org/cms-3/classes/Joomla.CMS.User.User.html#method_authorise
I understand I can create my own actions to be triggered , but not sure if it is the best way to do as I would need to modify the "joomla core" files, means, eachtime an update will be applied, I will have to re-update afterwards.
According to you experience, could you indicate what is from your point of view the best way to proceed ? maybe something better ?
Thx !

You're trying to extend Joomlas authorization check? CB Auto Actions basically just performs actions on events. If there's a Joomla event for it you can act on it and potentially extend it. If there isn't then CB Auto Actions can't help you. The list of available Joomla events can be found below.

docs.joomla.org/Plugin/Events

Be sure to prefix them with joomla_ for CB Auto Actions to act on them and ensure the CB Auto Actions Bot within Extensions > Plugins is installed and published as it's used to hook into Joomla events. I don't think there's an event for ACL authorization checks as the authorization events available pertain to login authorization.
