Hello,

I want to say that I am a newbie and apologize if this is a naive question....

I have been creating access levels within Joomla itself but unfortunately those levels are not feeding into the community builder so I am having a tough time assign rights to different groups.

Don't understand the issue. What do you mean not feeding into Community Builder? Please be more specific as to what's not working.

I am setting the ACL levels in the main Joomla control settings. But they are not being pulled into Community Building where I can use it to set Tab Restrictions or Field Restrictions.

Fields have no usergroup or view access level usage. Field access is based off tab access. Tab access is view access levels and not usergroups. You need to configure new view access levels within Users > Access Levels. Once done edit your tabs within CB > Tab Management to change their access.
