Upgrade to 1.9.1 breaks email function was created by AlphaCharlie
Hi.

Following an upgrade to CB 1.9.1, I receive the attached when sending emails through users profile pages. In addition, CR's now show as this instead of a blank line: \r\n\r\n

Also, quotes have slash characters added: \"i\" and \"l\"

The emails do send, but it's not a good look to my users, causing a flood of calls.

Any ideas?

Nothing regarding the email functionality was touched in 1.9.1. Quite literally the only thing changed is the password handling so it functions fine on latest Joomla 3.x releases. So something else has changed in your environment or you upgraded from a much earlier CB build. Please be more specific as to what CB version you upgraded from.

Not sure what version I upgraded from, but it would have been about 12 months old. Is there a way to find out?

If you have a backup I suppose you could check it, but aside from that nope.

Are you using CB Public Mail or anything similar that changes the email user behavior? Does your server have magic quotes on? If so try turning them off. If already off then try turning them on.

CB Public Mail completely alters the mail form behavior. It's actually no longer CBs mailer form. You'll need to contact the developer of CB Public Mail for support, which can be done in the below topic.
