CB 2.0 Installation error

I have a joomla 3.6 site and in trying to install CB 2.0 (package : pkg_communitybuilder_2.0.0+4f7d5ed0c.zip), I get the following error message:

It becomes an unending circle !

For additional information, installation is a home Ubuntu server configured as follow:
Ubuntu Linux 14.04
Apache Webserver 2.4.7
MySQL version 5.5.38
PHP 5.5.9

You most probably have folder access permissions issues (owner or write permissions) on one of your folders.

Go to Extensions -A Components -> Community Builder -> Tools

And at bottom you should see permissions status on folders.

You can either fix them yourself or ask your hoster to fix your permissions, so that the php process has write access to your joomla folder and included folders.

Did not find permissions status on folders.

This is what I see on Components -> Community Builder -> Tools...

I believe that the permission statuses are seen on the CB Plugin Install screen.

On the plugin install screen found :

/var/www/joomla3/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/ (Does Not Exist)
/var/www/joomla3/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/templates/ (Does Not Exist)
/var/www/joomla3/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/language/ (Does Not Exist)

I created the folders with proper permissions. Re-installed CB 2.0 and got the same message.

I finally tar pluginsfiles.tgz, adjusted the permissions and, Voilà !, the error message disappeared.

But obviously that is not the way it should work !!!
