[#4948] GroupJive automaticaly delets categories

9 years 4 months ago - 9 years 4 months ago #255089 by Wienm
In a new project I create 26 categories - the alphabetic sorted memberships, in which communities can place their name groups. During 2 months there have been no problem. Without touching any admin files yesterday we have to see, that only 8 categories are filed, in back- & frontend. Surprising the categories G,H,I,J,K and cats after L are deleted. What deletionfactor lies behind this? It could be a reason that we have not written a description to these categories.
As this platform is in test phase we can easy solve the problem.

If the owner of the category is deleted in CB then the category will delete. Currently you can not shut this behavior off, but next release will have a parameter to disable it. For now make sure the user who owns the categories is a user you won't delete.

krileon thank you for the prompt reaction, it is a very important information

we found out: we had to make a Akeeba backup and reinstalled it on the new platform. During this we changed the webmasters login-data. And this could be the reason (?)
Nevertheless - would it be also happen if somebody i "blocked" or "banned"?

It doesn't delete categories or groups if the owner is blocked or banned. It only does so if they're deleted from CB entirely.
