Edit your list within CB > List Management and under the Sorting tab adjust the sorting as necessary. I've no idea what you're sorting by.

Seams to be working fine in my tests. Sorting by Username in Ascending or Descending order gives the expected results. What field or fields are you trying to sort by? The sorting adds directly to the query as the ORDER BY statement so sorting behavior should be same as you'd expect from a database query.
