Very Misleading Description For Auto-Publish

13 years 3 weeks ago #159450 by GoremanX
This text is very misleading:
Enable or disable auto-publishing of newly created Groups. Groups will require approval by Category owner or a Moderator. Moderators and Category owners are exempt from this configuration and can select publish status.

It's found next to the "Approve" option in the backend configuration under the "Groups" tab.

The text implies that setting the option to "Enable" will auto-publish new groups (since the options are "Enable" and "Disable"). However it actually works completely backwards. Setting the option to "Enable" will disable auto-publish, and vice-versa. I don't think the option is wrong, I think the text describing it is very poorly written.

PLEASE if you find a problematic string offer a SUGGESTION. Simply stating it is poorly written does me no good in better writing it for you or others to understand. All strings are written from my perspective only and being a coder my speaking skills are less then social-able.

The below strings are now committed, these should make a bit more sense. Again, if you've a complaint of a string please follow that with a suggestion as am no English major of any sorts even though is my only language spoken, lol. :P

"Enable or disable approval of newly created Categories. Categories will require approval by a Moderator to be published. Moderators are exempt from this configuration and can select publish status."

"Enable or disable approval of newly created Groups. Groups will require approval by Category owner or a Moderator to be published. Moderators and Category owners are exempt from this configuration and can select publish status."
