Just writing to report to you one poblem is happening to me on my page, I'm from Argentina and we use the Spanish language, I have clients using user names with special characters like:
unto
é
í
ó
ú

And the same can not receive, because it throws an error with the username.

Strange. Can you check please if UTF-8 encoding is enabled in uddeIM back-end (system tab).

about switching to UTF-8 and now it works.
