UddeIM not working after Joomla migration

9 years 3 weeks ago #261125 by sirweb
Diong a Joomla test migration on localhost:
J 2.5.28/CB 1.9.11/UddeIM 3.6 (J1.6-J2.5) version and a huge number of various extensions.

After successful J migration to 3.4.1 everything works fine except UddeIM.
I understand I need to update UddeIM to 3.6 (J3.0-J3.4) version but how?

After migration, UddeIM says:
An error has occurred.
404 Component not found.

When trying to reinstall UddeIM in Joomla Extension manager, is says:
Error
Cannot upgrade 3.6 to 3.6
Error installing component

I have searched readme, faq, forum and your site for instructions how to handle UddeIM during migration but I did not find any help. Am I missing something obvious?

Can you please advice where to find UddeIM migration docs or hints how to solve this issue?

Please remove uddeIM and reinstall the component. You cannot install the same version over an existing version.

Thanks for your answer!

As there are a lot of messages in the DB, I have a couple of follow-up questions.
Is it ok to just remove the files and the UddeIM entry in #_extensions?
What happens with the database when reinstalling? Is it overwritten?

I guess the proper way would be to uninstall UddeIM before migration and then reinstall it after wards using the J! Extension Manager.
Does UddeIM touch its database tables or are they left intact?

Thanks,
Sune

I can answer that myself. :)

First time I tried, UddeIM wasnt uninstallable after migration.
Sedond time I tried, it worked. Maybe cache problem?

I uninstalled UddeIM component and its modules and reinstalled the J! 3.x versions, everything works fine and the database tables were left intact.
Important to remember to manually backup the configuration file as described in the readme.
