I am using CB 2.0.9. When I set up a CB-field as follows....

...the 'Title' will be translated on the GUI but the 'Description' will not be translated although there is the same language string referenced....can you verify this ?

Click the view source button for your WYSIWYG editor. Then ensure there's no surrounding elements. It's common for an editor to surround your string with a <p element, which will cause it to not translate.

I am using the standard built in editor that is delivered with the Joomla 3.4 package. If I click on the button 'toggle editor' ....the following will be displayed: <p>_UE_IDP_ZIPCODE</p> .....then I delete the <p> and the </p> tags...and press save ....but it didn't help....if I open the editor again.... the <p>_UE_IDP_ZIPCODE</p> appears again.....PS: I didn't have this behaviour with CB 1.9 ...this is new with CB 2.0.9

switch temporarily your joomla editor to No Editor and then remove the <p></p> sympols and save and then retest.

We had a legacy function in CB 1.x that removed that for you, but that wasn't the best approach as it deletes content. That's gone in CB 2.x so you have to manually make sure the string is correct. To do this click the toggle editor and remove it in the textarea field then save, but do not toggle back before saving. You can also change your editors parameters within its editor plugin in Extensions > Plugin Manager so new lines don't use p elements, but br elements.
