[#7558] Billing Address Issue with authorize.net

4 years 10 months ago - 4 years 10 months ago #312293 by Proteon
I have activated the "Ask for card billing address for AVS" option in Authorize.net payment gateway in CB Subs.

However, I get the following error on the website when trying to make the payment:
Payment error received from payment gateway: (TESTMODE) Bill To Address is required. (33)

Does filling out the zip code and country dropdown not work for that? Did you disable the invoice fields for CBSubs? Ensure invoice address is enabled in CBSubs > Settings > Display > Invoices.

(1) The invoice option is enabled in the backend and I am filling in all the details for the invoice in the frontend.

(2) I have now enabled to show street address as well for the billing address. Now, the error message has changed to the following:
Payment error received from payment gateway: (TESTMODE) Bill To City is required. (33)

So, it looks like, authorize.net is requiring the City field in the billing address parameters, but CB Subs doesn't seem to have the option for the billing-city.

Please see if this is the cause of the issue.

I've let Beat know as he maintains the Authorize.net implementation. For now I recommend just disabling "Ask for card billing address for AVS"; banks don't check those details anyway and is only relevant if the gateway it self has some anti fraud that they need that information for (I don't know if Authorize.net provides such a feature). Have added a bug ticket for this issue.
