Today I had to restore a backup of our website (files & database) that I had made with Akeeba.
During the restoration process the website suddenly started sending messages to subscribers that their subscription had ended.
At the end of the restoration process everything was fine, the subscriptions were valid, but the emails were already sent.
We use an external office 365 smtp server for the mail.
I could have probably prevented this by (temporary) disabling the email account that the website uses.
But I had no idea that this could happen.
I am not sure if you can prevent this or even reproduce this, but maybe a warning in the documentation could be added ?

During backup restores it's best to turn off emailing globally within Joomla and set Joomla globally to offline mode. Not really something for us to document as we're not doing the restoring; Akeeba is.
