Tested with a field action and it appears to be working fine. Please provide a screenshot of your auto action global, conditions, and action tab. My guess is there's an issue with your configuration somewhere maybe.

Strange that very similar usage worked perfectly fine in my tests. Try setting Value in your action to "TESTING" and see if that works. Could just be the substitution that's failing.
