Can admin edit a payment date?

Can admin edit a payment date? was created by itsjeff
I have a question from a client who is managing a site with paid memberships.

Is it possible to edit the payment / transaction completed date? They added a member subscription who paid "offline" by accessing the user as a moderator in front end. They entered 7/27/2017 instead of 7/27/2016. I am unable to find how to edit this (if it's possible) in the admin or elsewhere.

If it would have to be done manually in the database, I am capable of doing that, but would love reassurance that changing that one value wouldn't affect anything or need to be updated in multiple places.

Please advise. Thanks,
Jeff

Also, would an alternative be to delete the payment and add a new one with the proper date? Or is it a bad idea to be deleting payments and such..

It's not a huge hassle to edit the DB if needed, and I'm sure they'll be more careful having had this happen. I just would like to know the best practice to correct an issue like this. Thanks again.

Payments and baskets can not be edited. Only subscriptions can be edited. Both Payments and baskets can be deleted in the respective views in backend. If you need to modify the payment or basket you'll have to do so directly in your database. Specifically in _cbsubs_payments (payments) or _cbsubs_payment_baskets (baskets).

Thank you Krileon. I'm experienced with DB work so it's not a big deal, but would you suggest one method over the other, to resolve the issue of an erroneous payment date?

As you can't modify payment or basket details from CBSubs you'll have to change them directly in the database tables _cbsubs_payments (payments) and _cbsubs_payment_baskets (baskets). There's no other method for adjusting either at this time.
