I see with this module there is no way to keep my customers who register from changing their contact details.

The simply log in register, and from there they can chge their user name.. name everything with ease.

I now have no control over my site, and all my records are messed up because multiple people now hav different names and usernames..

I know you can chang setting to keep username from being changed..
but then i have issues with there name...

turnig front end uder editor param to off does not work either..


Please i need serious help with this.

Or i have to spend alot of money with another CMS system.

No one on this site seems to know how to do this.

Its a serious bug.

Actually I decided to continue to try everything possible to have it so a person would not be able to adjust there contact details, and i found the answer.

At first i turned contact info off by unpublishing core file. NO good.

Then i went into the Tab area and set the contact info to admin.

Thats all it was, the now have no access to it once logged in.

Of course they can edit additional info area but thats no problem. becase all you need to do is set those particular fields to read only.

the only problem left and i guess ill have to figure it out on my own of course, is to set it so that when they request another option it will notify me.
Problem is if i turn that to read only before its populated then they cant choose the item.

So the only solution is to have it not set to appear on registration and still leave it closed.

they still see option on profile and ill have to put a line under it saying to request this offer email me.

But im sure il find a way to get it to work.
may just take me 5 10 15 days but i guess ill have todeal with it

actually i spoke to soon.

it works the method i discribed.

However the person will not be able to edit any of his info.

it will keep saying enter name.

So i thought i had a plan, but it failed.

I guess ill try the protect field.

I must admit why would anyone develop a login sequence like this and allow people to continously just chage their names at random.

I mean im writting cheques for people based on there first and last name
and i cant depent on a program to keep their name there name.

I mean unless i turned the username off to edit they would be able to just randomly do whatever they wanted on my site, and the thousands of other people as well.

Its so strange that a little thing such as this can cause havoc for such a good prgram.

You saved the day!!! I found the protect field, and not only dies it solve that one particular problem, it solves a few others i was worrying about, man what an excellent plug in, it really save me this time.
