Thanks...really appreciate all you are doing. I've just reverted back to a former version in the meantime to resolve the display issue.

I'm using Orstio's bridge if that is of any use to you.

Phil

Of course, the profile plugin is my problem child.

I think I found the display culprit - a bit of bad HTML coding.

I'm going through each line of code one more time to see if there are any more lovely surprises.

Also had to add a bridge-checker of sorts to make sure I pull file path information from the correct source - Ortisio's bridge builds a MYSQL table to store this info, whereas the Joomlahacks bridge has the file path information in config variables.

This looks like it's working thus far.

The good news is that the other two plugins appear to be stable. Because of this, I'll upload the profile plugin only.

Again, sorry this is so tedius - just when you fix one thing, something else decides to misbehave.

Brat.

CB-SMF Multi-bridge Version - TESTERS NEEDED!! 5 years, 5 months ago #19174

Hello again. I'm in the middle of some brutal testing of the package. The goal of the plugins is to support both the "official" and the Joomlahacks bridges.

That means the plugins must work with SMF installed in its own separate database apart from Joomla. Also, the plugins must properly use either system's SMF variables in order to pull the correct pathways, etc.

That said, the next versions are almost ready. However, before releasing them generally, I'd like to have them beta tested.

I especially need people who meet one or more of the following ASAP:

Safari/Mac users
SMF with Ortisio's bridge (especially if SMF is installed on a separate database)
SMF using Joomlahack bridge

If you're up for being a beta, please let me know. The only reason I'm asking for specific volunteers is because I need focused, careful feedback from people I know are going to really put the plugins through their paces.

Of course, anyone can download, but I really need beta people to PM me with detailed results so I can fix any problems.

Again, thank you for your patience and support during this process.

Regards,
Brat.

I am using the Joomlahacks bridge, and when trying to use any of the plugins I get errors that look like this:

I'm not surprised. I think the version you're using has a typo in it (an incorrect field name). I had to change/alter the plugins to properly access Ortisio's bridge. The bridge situation has been the Number One issue I needed to address, and I've been working on it. I'm almost done with the next version. I will upload it here, as well as email copies to those who have specifically mentioned they want to be beta testers.

Hopefully, the new fixes will work for you. If not, please let me know, and I will tweak the code as needed.

Quick Question - how are your tables named? I'm using a variable to capture names dynamically, I just want to be sure that I have it setup correctly.

Brat.

:CB-SMF Plugins - v1.2 BETA 5 years, 5 months ago #19257

I've spent a good bit of time this weekend going over the code for all three plugins, and made various changes - so many, that the version is now at 1.2. So far, it looks like everything is working as it should, even with SMF installed on a different databas.

Please note that these plugins are technically still in beta. So, download, plugin, and let me know if there are any problems. Thank you one again for your help.

NOTE For some reason, I can't attach a file, so I've uploaded a copy of the zipped package here. As soon as I can upload the package here, I will.

Regards,
Brat.
