I'm not surprised. I think the version you're using has a typo in it (an incorrect field name). I had to change/alter the plugins to properly access Ortisio's bridge. The bridge situation has been the Number One issue I needed to address, and I've been working on it. I'm almost done with the next version. I will upload it here, as well as email copies to those who have specifically mentioned they want to be beta testers.

Hopefully, the new fixes will work for you. If not, please let me know, and I will tweak the code as needed.

Quick Question - how are your tables named? I'm using a variable to capture names dynamically, I just want to be sure that I have it setup correctly.

Regards,
Brat.

My tables are named however joomla and smf set them up by default, all in one database. I believe the prefix for the smf files is smf_ which I think is default. I'm going to try the new 1.2 files and report back.

Ok, they WORK!!!

Bugs for me:

1. When clicking the Modify Profile link (the main reason I wanted this plugin) it takes me to my forum index. I can see in the link the call to the profile, but it doesn't take me there so I still can't edit my profile. The url it shows is "www.tercelclub.com/component/option,com_...a=forumProfile" but the URL I need is "www.tercelclub.com/component/option,com_...a=forumProfile"

Note the missing "/" before the action call. I will manually edit this later.

2. When clicking on a topic name in the Forum Posts section, or on any of the board names, I get a url similar to "www.tercelclub.com/component/option,com_....msg415#msg415" which does not work.

This one isn't a bug, but I was wondering if it's possible to add an option that limits the number of words pulled from the Forum Posts...so say like the first 100 characters, with a link to the message if they want to read the rest. Some of our posts get really long, and there's no need to have the whole thing on my board.

other then that, I love them. Thank you for spending the time to develop these, when I can get the profile link to work it will make my members lives so much easier so they can modify their signature and avatar among others.

Glad to hear you got these working!

With respect to the links - yep, I have gotten that feedback from more than a couple of people. The problem was that the plugins were not written with SEF in mind.

I've gone in, made quite a few bugfixes, and also have now added SEF support. Though currently still being tested, this appears to now render URLs that work with both Joomla's native SEF and with OpenSEF (tested with default installation).

I'm going to be releasing this next version of the plugins to my beta testers by the end of this week if not sooner for evalutation and feedback. Once I'm more assured of their performance, I will then upload the latest package for general use.

Thank you all again for your comments - that makes it much easier to find and squish bugs.

Regards,
Brat.

CB-SMF Version 1.3 Update 5 years, 5 months ago #19775

Hello, all. Sorry for the long silence, but Real Life had a lot to do with it.

But, the good news is that I've also gotten a lot done with the plugins. The latest version is lovingly called 1.3 RC3 SEF.

There have been so many changes, bugfixes, and even a feature or two added, that we're now up to Version 1.3. This version is being tested with SMF 1.1 RC3 and with SEF (both Joomla's native SEF and OpenSEF).

I have submitted the latest test package to the betas. Currently, there appear to be no "show stopping" bugs, and SEF is rendering correctly (yay!).

Fingers crossed, barring any contrary reports, Version 1.3 will be ready to release before the week's end.

Thanks again to all those who have tested and provided feedback!

Regards,
Brat.

Hello, all. Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to give my beta testers time to report bugs. The reports I received were fixed, and word from the field is that everything is working okay.

That said, here is the latest and hopefully greatest. This version is SEF-enabled (should work with Joomla's native SEF and OpenSEF).

If you have any problems, please let me know.

Regards,
Brat.
