Can not register from front end. was created by Kevin
Me again : )..

Just about all aspects of CB2 are working great in my install (integrated with SimpleBoard, uddeIM and YANC), however, there is one big problem. I can't register new users from the front end. Here are the details:

- ibucho.lunarpages.biz is the staging URL, feel free to try it
- after clicking SUBMIT Firefox WINXP I'm taken to the home page (the URL in the browsers address bar says - sitename.com/index.php) with this message " Please login or Register to view or modify your profile."
- after clicking SUBMIT Firefox Mac OXS I'm taken to the home page (the URL in the browsers address bar says - sitename.com/index.php)with this message " Please login or Register to view or modify your profile."
- after clicking SUBMIT IE WINXP is completly shut down and closed. No warnings. No pauses.
- I tried unpublishing ALL fields except the most basic Mambo fields with no luck and trying again with same results.
- I'm using Mambo 4.5.2, Simpleboard 1.1, Yanc latest and uddeIM latest
- I CAN add users from the back end.
- Password recovery works great.

I hope this gives enough info to to shed some light on the problem. I almost hesitate to post any problems since I'm sure its me not the script, and we are all so happy to have 2.0 :) Any help would be greatly appricaited.

Huh..

am on my way to ibucho.lunarpages.biz

-edit-

i cannot find CB, i guess you uninstalled it.

Well here's some guesswork: Did you use the login module that comes with CB ?

And how about trying CBlogin452, i use it on my own site and it works fine.

Make sure your login redirect page exists, or try it with that field empty.

The login works great. Its registration that doesn't work.

Yes, CB is on ibucho.lunarpages.biz click "CREATE ACCOUNT" in upper right side of page. Here is the register url ibucho.lunarpages.biz/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=registers

Thanks so much for looking into this. I hope I can get it fixed.

Here is the javascript error from the registration page problems that started this thread:

Error: syntax error
Source File: ibucho.lunarpages.biz/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=registers
Line: 445, Column: 43
Source Code:
} else if ((me.value != "") &&&& (me.value != me.value)){

I;m also using PHP-SHOP which has registration stuff in it. This is likely where the problem lies since PHP-Shop ties into the default reg system. I will post if I find any fixes (though I'm no dev). If anyone has PHP-Shop (now VirtueMart) working with CB2 please let me know how you did it.

I'm using mambo-phpShop 1.2 stable 3 [Good Young Progress]

Humbly, I thank you once again,

You need to find how the 2 "&" in the original code are making 4 "&" on your site !

That's the error on that line.

Maybe a mambot ?

I too am having this problem. I recall attempting to fix a javascript error with the "Send Registration" button by upgrading from CB 1 to CB RC2. Now in Firefox WinXP it goes to index.php saying " Please login or Register to view or modify your profile." no email sent no data in members table. In WinXP w/ IE it completely crashes!
Ive tried about everything I can including disabling all mambots. Im desperate and I really cant do a fresh install!
I however dont have 4 "&"'s in source code. I do not have PHP-shop currently installed but I did previously. All code seems to look good! PLZ HELP!!!!
