This is a problem I have been facing all the time.
I always got an error message that was invariably related to line 550 (whatever is in there). The problem was automatically resolved when I downloaded Joomla 1.0.7
Is there anyway that is problem can be resolved with my mambo installation (2.5.3)???
How difficult is it to upgrade from mambo to joomla. is it worth it?
I didn't have to worry about the nitty-gritty details of installing. My hosting people (siteground.com) took care of everything. Anyway, upgrading worked for me. It fixed one hell of a problem for me.
Well I upgraded from Mambo 4.5.3 to Joomla 1.0.7 and still not fixed!
This leads me to conclude several things.
1. a database issue, certain columns in the comprofiler tables arent there. (However in Joomla/Mambo reports no Mysql errors)
2. Data is not being inserted into the right columns in the first place
3. A Conflicting Component/ Module
4. File Permissions
I have been having exactly the same problems.
The Mambo installation I used was Mambo 4.5.2 eCommerce edition that has PHP-Shop already included. I uninstalled the PHP-Shop component and all worked fine.
From my Experience I have discovered that certain modules will not allow forms to be submitted. I Advise before uninstalling anything try first unpublishing your dynamic modules one by one.
