upgrade path from RC2 to stable was created by mangoman
Just want to ask the question - again perhaps, I couldn't find this specific question anywhere:
Currently running Joomla 1.0.8 and ready to install CB RC2 (I need to install on a production site because I cannnot wait much longer for CB 1.0 stable), yet I am a little concerned...
...will it be possible to upgrade from RC2 to 1.0 stable on Joomla 1.0.8 and then (later) running Joomla 1.1?

Of course.
1.0 stable is just RC2 with some bug-fixes - no new features.

OK. I am kind of ready to upgrade to the stable version but would like to know if there is another way to upgrade besides the uninstall reinstall which will kill all my current settings and tables.

I am sure this has been answered before ...
Upgrading from RC2 to 1.0 stable will not drop any database tables. PLEASE read the readme file distributed with 1.0 stable and follow the instructions.
